Taormina "the shining pearl of the east coast"
Taormina in Sicily is one of the most beautiful holiday sites in Italy.
The small town of about 10.000 inhabitants in the county of Messina is situated on the stunning east coast of Sicily on the Ionian Sea. It is approx. 60 km from Catania and its airport and 45 km from Messina.
Taormina is famous for its beautiful landscape, its mild climate and its lush vegetation.
The picturesque old city centre is located on Monte Tauro ("Tauro" mountain) between rocky mountains and the Ionian Sea.
