The free beach of Spisone

There is a small part of the beach in the bay of Spisone is of free use. Here everybody can put up his sunshade and sunbed.

But there are no toilets or showers. The beach consists of smooth sand and the bay is perfectly convenient for swimming. In the water there are no big stones allowing you to bathe in the sea without any constriction. The water is crystal clear and clean.

The free beach of Spisone is being used predominatly by locals and is pretty crowded in the summer months.

The access to the beach cannot be found easily.

The Panasia lido in Spisone is the most extravagant lido of Taormina. It is meeting point of the interesting and beautiful people. This lido has been mentioned several times in different lifestyle magazines and those who spend their holidays there can tell exclusively positive aspects about it.

The Panasia holds a particularly praiseworthy restaurant opened at midday as well as at night time. Its cuisine is splendid. Apart from the restaurant there is a café opened at daytime which serves snacks and drinks.

You certainly should participate on the Happy Hour events during the evening as this is a good opportunity of meeting new people. 

The service of the Panasia team is outstanding. Panasia is one of the few lidos offering service on the beach.

While being a lido during the day at night time Panasia turns into one of the hottest discotheques of Taormina. It is famous for its Friday night parties with the chic youth of whole Sicily being present.

It is a clear, sandy beach. But in the sea it is quite stony making it less pleasant going for a swim. In total the lido has only 4 rows of sunshades. Water is always clean and the beach is extremely well-kept.

Lido Stockholm

The Stockholm lido in Taormina is an elegant lido mainly frequented by English and German speaking tourists.

On the right side it borders on the lido of Panasia Beach with only a few rows of sunloungers. From the beach the view over the sea and the Baia delle Sirene is exceptionally impressive.

The Stockholm lido is equipped with a quite pricy, but excellent restaurant.


During lunch time snacks can be bought at the counter.

The view over the sea from the restaurant and the bar is fantastic.

Service is outstanding and courteous. The first 2 rows on the beach are reserved for the residents of the hotel so that you unfortunately never get the opportunity to have a sunbath in immediate vicinity to the sea.
