The Odeon in Taormina, incidentally rediscovered during construction works in 1892, is also known as the "small theatre" of Taormina. It originates from the Roman Empire and resembles the Teatro Greco.
The Odeon is oriented towards north and it is said to have been reserved only for a selected audience. It was also a place of performances and discussions.
The Odeon of Taormina is situated directly next to the Palazzo Corvaja on the Corso Umberto.
