This pretty room is in a beautiful B&B in Catania, one of sicily's most beautyful cities. With its 30 sqm it offers enough space for 2- 4 people. The room was furnished with many lovely details and among the good combination of bright colours and modern furnitures is the room a cosy oasis. There is a kitchen to be used by all guests of the B&B together. The use of the joint kitchen is included.

Sights:

The Apartment is located in the historic town center of Catania. Many beautiful churches and buildings have been preserved for ensuing ages and decorate the city of Catania like no other. To pick a example, only 5 minutes away from the apartment is the Piazza Duomo with its two famous churches, the cathedrale "Duomo di Catania" and the church " Sant` Agata". The emblem of the city is an elephant called Liotru, which you can see at the Piazza Duomo at the Elephant-fountain, a masterpiece of the architect Giovanni Battista Vaccarini. Today's city hall, the Palazzo degli Elefanti, is located at this square as well. Near by you'll find various stores and the shopping promenade of Catania, called Via Etnea.

There you'll find many stores and boutiques, as well as restaurants, bars and pubs. Catania has a good transport system, so you can consider leaving your car at home.

Coast:

The eastcoast, where Catania is located at, is called "the country where lemons blossom", since the surounding area is full of lemon-and orangeplantations.

There are wonderful sandy beaches as well as impressing cliffy sections at the coast, which is only about 2 km away from the apartment. The longest beach is the Playa di Catania, which is about 30 km long and is highly frequented in the summer. Younger people can choose here from many different beachdiscos.

It's highly recommended to take a walk along the beautiful port of Catania. Enjoy the sun and tasty sicilian lemon-icecream while admiring the big ships and the picturesque little fishing boats.

University town:

Catania is a old and renown university town. Visiting the university, that is located in a former benedictrine monastry, is recommended. It's the second largest monastry of europe and every sightseeing tour should include a visit. Another highlight of the city is the Piazza Federico di Svevia, with it's castle "Casetllo Ursino".
