Some absolutely love her. Others criticize nearly everything she does. But one thing is certain: Lola Astanova is a phenomenon. A virtuoso often described as "firebrand" and nicknamed "the millioin.dollar pianist", Lola is hardly your stereotypical classical musician. Add to that her interest in fashion, film and pop (yes, pop!) music, and it becomes obvious that no one traditional definition is sufficient and accurate enough to describe this unique artist.

On August 16th, on the stage of the Teatro Antico in Taormina, Lola Astanova together with the Mediterranean Chamber Orchestra starring the music of Bernstein, Ravel e Gerschwin. Known throughout the world she makes concerts from the age of eight years and she is at the forefront in many charitable activities.

 

Taormina Arte presents, in collaboration with the Music Academy of Palermo, five evenings of classical and contemporary music five famous pianists.

On July 21st, in the splendid setting of the Teatro Antico in Taormina, with Ludovico Einaudi, In A Time Lapse Tour, an album consisting of 14 songs, with instrumentation that includes piano, strings, percussion and electronics. On stage with an ensemble of eleven musicians the composer and pianist presents his latest album.

On August 16th, we will see on the stage of the Teatro Antico in Taormina, Lola Astanova.

On 21st August Mario Galeani the only Italian pianist “guest star” at the Royal Philarmonic in London. He will play music from Gerschwin, Verdi, Wagner, Chopin e Liztz.

On August 24th Giovanni Allevi together with him the professors of the Mediterranean Chamber Orchestra, with his latest project, the first concerto for violin and orchestra "Sunrise".

On 29th August, a welcome return Valentina Lisitsa, the most famous living pianist, accompanied by the Mediterranean Chamber Orchestra, conducted for the occasion by Maestro Michael Erren, the music of Sergej Rachmaninov and Edward Grieg.
